With the worry and uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus, many of us are facing new challenges that affect all aspects of our lives. If you are worried about your health or the health of a loved one, your financial situation, adjusting to working from home, currently not working or afraid that you will not be able to work, dealing with increased family tensions, feeling the loss of not being able to see your family members, or the grief of having lost someone to this virus, you don’t need to face these challenges alone. The therapy process begins by establishing a good fit. Credentials, experience, and personality are all things to consider when choosing a therapist. I encourage those considering therapy to follow their instincts. My clinical experience includes work with children, adolescents, and adults from an array of culturally diverse backgrounds and settings. If there is a specific concern that you are looking to address, please feel free to contact me and we can determine if I am a good fit for you. If together we determine that a “good fit” exists, we will collaborate on a treatment plan, and from there begin the therapy process. My approach as a psychotherapist incorporates the belief that in therapy, we are not merely addressing symptoms such as anxiety or depression, rather, we seek to understand how these manifest and learn how to overcome them not only during treatment but in the future as well. I believe psychotherapy is a relational and collaborative process; it is one that includes both the science as well as the craft of psychology and feel empathy: “to see with the eyes of another, to hear with the ears of another, and to feel with the heart of another” in the words of Alfred Adler. While I do not accept insurance, I am willing to help you get reimbursed as an out-of-network provider. Please verify your health insurance coverage when you arrange your first session. Additionally, I have the flexibility to change my rate to meet the needs of each individual I work with.
